I have a new dog here, a bitch of just under a year old. It is a pretty thorough-bred doberman pinscher, but I didn’t want this breed. I was just going to get a dog, but it turned out that the person who was to give me one had this breed. Regarding breeding, I prefer to assign breeding to Providence (essentially getting preferred genes together, but then letting a new variety emerge without my further influencing the breeding).
Anyway, so the dog is here for some days now. It has adjusted well enough, and has a very useful respect for humans. Its tail, unfortunately, was already docked. I do not agree with this practice; and certainly not with the severing of the entire tail! I have hated having to help it deal with the few cases where not having a tail is a big deal. In most cases, however (I must admit), it has been one less thing to worry about.
Anyway, so there is now a dog in my life.
