Neither Script Nor Image

I have once again instated my policy of surfing the Web with JavaScript and images disabled, and the sheer exhilarating relief is hard to put in words. Everything loads very quickly, and just the content. If I really need to see the images—that is, to see the one image out the bazillion images that would load on each and every single fucking page on the Web—I just take it to an alternative browser and close that when I am done.
It’s so nice to know that I am not handing Turing-complete playground to each of my fellow sick perverts out there whenever I load a page; that I am not letting my bandwidth get spent by cheap attempts at grabbing my attention.
Whenever I have wanted productivity, I have instinctively moved to make the Internet boring for me first; the usual result is that it gets far more interesting and liberating, because just as I have neither Facebook nor Twitter, now, once again, I also have neither script nor image to grab my resources.
