One of the things I am enjoying immensely about the Safari web browser is the relatively-recent “Reader” feature. It pulls the text out of a page, based on some heuristics, and makes a very readable display out of it. The best part is that you can then print this. I print to a PDF, and then this means I have a PDF copy of the text in question. That is neat in more ways than I can bother listing here. Because the Reader system is based on heuristics, it is not always capable of doing the right thing. But when it gets it right, it is so relieving. It even often knows, under certain conditions, to follow articles that have been split into several pages and presents one piece of text for them. (It fetches the parts lazily, so you have to scroll them into fetching.) I am coming to depend a lot on this feature.
